A COLLABORATIVE PROJECT WITH THE INSTITUT FÜR NEUE MUSIK AT THE HOCHSCHULE FÜR MUSIK UND TANZ, COLOGNE.
Adventure is the name of the long-term collaboration between the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne Conservatory of Music and Dance) and Ensemble Musikfabrik, largely financed by the Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes NRW (Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia). Within the framework of Adventure, composition students from the classes of Prof. Michael Beil, Prof. Brigitta Muntendorf and Prof. Miroslav Srnka work intensively with the soloists of the Ensemble Musikfabrik on new compositions. The cooperation project not only ensures a mutual learning process over a long period of time – different formats can also be envisaged or a project can extend beyond the usual framework over several semesters. The resulting contacts between the generation of musicians and composers have an impact on the future.
The multifaceted possibilities offered by this dialogue are demonstrated in premiere concerts with a wide variety of instrumentations, from solo to chamber music to full ensemble, in the artistic exploration of electronics, light, video, singing and space.Numerous videos were created in the process – some during the Corona pandemic, but also concert documentations from the HfMT’s concert hall. These document the collaboration in a lasting way.
