The Kölner Chaos Orchester (KCO) was founded in spring 2025 and after two successful project phases in spring and autumn 2025, now meets regularly.
We make music – new, improvised, composed, quiet, loud, wild, and wonderfully crazy. The KCO is a sound experiment beyond all conventions and open to everyone, regardless of age, gender, origin, or musical experience. Cultural boundaries dissolve, and what remains is the unifying power of music.
A utopia?
Perhaps.
But one thing is certain: everyone can participate – with or without an instrument, whether experienced or simply curious.
The KCO is designed as an open format. Anyone who wants to can join at any time. The meetings are not structured as a continuous rehearsal process. We work freely, playfully, and flexibly. When a concert is coming up, we naturally tailor the rehearsals accordingly.
We meet twice a month, and new members are always welcome.
