Tia Matoyi – Lingala for ‘Prick up your ears!’ or ‘Listen carefully!’ – marks the start of a long-term collaboration between Ensemble Musikfabrik and musicians from Kinshasa’s experimental DIY scene. Following an initial research phase in Kinshasa, Spiritus Idrissa, Nada Tshibwabwa and Love Lokombe are coming to Cologne for a week-long working session. In this workshop concert, this open-ended artistic process will be presented to the public for the first time, featuring classical, electronic and recycled instruments, as well as vocals.
