COVID-19 and the situation that comes with it, challenges our everyday life especially as musicians who rely on a constant exchange and contact to you as an audience. We’re staying busy in creating new formats and ways to bridge this gap in times of social distancing. Therefore, we created the Lockdown Tapes, in which we present solo pieces recorded live to tape!
Lockdown Tape  #1 features Christine Chapman with Jing Wang’s piece for shellhorn ‚Yan‘.

Jing Wang was a participant in the Solo Collider Program in cooperation with the University of Music and Dance Cologne, in which composition students worked together with individual soloists of the Ensemble Musikfabrik. Fascinated by the variety of sounds that are possible on the conch shell horn, Wang was inspired to create a piece that reflects her connection to the sea and her parents‘ home.
