Our double bass player\u00a0Florentin Ginot<\/a>\u00a0explains his personal pizzicato technique in this new video tutorial. For this style of play you don\u2019t need a bow, you just use your hands to pluck the strings.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe technique was developed among others by Stefano Scodanibbio, double bass player and composer. You can find it for example in the\u00a0Sequenza XIVb<\/em>\u00a0by Luciano Berio in his transcription for double bass. This is a very useful example of notation if you want to write it down\u201c, said Florentin about the technique he is presenting. By showing examples he is illustrating the different steps to create for instance rhythmic patterns or four sound chords.<\/p>\n
