{"id":15139,"date":"2025-09-03T14:11:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T12:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.musikfabrik.eu\/blog\/august-2025-studio-musikfabrik-auf-konzertreise\/"},"modified":"2025-09-03T14:45:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T12:45:06","slug":"august-2025-studio-musikfabrik-auf-konzertreise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.musikfabrik.eu\/en\/blog\/august-2025-studio-musikfabrik-auf-konzertreise\/","title":{"rendered":"August 2025: Studio Musikfabrik on Concert Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ce ce-twocol \" >\r\n    <div class=\"container\">\r\n        <div class=\"row\">\r\n            <div class=\"col col-custom-1\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<h4><b>Music as a multimedia ritual \u2013 <\/b><b><i>An Index of Metals <\/i><\/b><b>presented in Bangkok and Singapore<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ten days, two cities, many new encounters \u2013 and countless musical impulses: The latest concert tour of <\/span><b>Studio Musikfabrik <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">led the two musicians <\/span><b>Mine Ece Pahsa <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(flute) and <\/span><b>Jung&#8217;s Kim <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(violoncello) in August 2025 to <\/span><b>Bangkok<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Singapore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The focus of the trip was the performance of the audiovisual work <\/span><b><i>An Index of Metals<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from <\/span><b>Fausto Romitelli <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 a multimedia event for soprano, ensemble, video and electronics. Together with musicians from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u00fcbeck University of Music,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, NUS <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from Singapore and the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Thailand and under the artistic direction of <\/span><b>Peter Veale <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the project was realized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the annual symposium of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Bangkok \u2013 this year under the motto <\/span><b>\u201eWonderland\u201c<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An Index of Metals<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was performed on the 22nd of August 2025 in the concert hall of the institute, followed by another concert on the 26th of August at the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Singapore. Two musicians from Studio Musikfabrik had the opportunity to present contemporary solo works from their repertoire during the symposium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The about <\/span><b>50-minute total performance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the <\/span><b>contemporary composition, immersive video design and electroacoustic soundscapes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will be performed in a similar line-up with Studio Musikfabrik and the L\u00fcbeck University of Music on the <\/span><b>18th October 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>L\u00fcbeck <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 a reunion with an extraordinary repertoire!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Personal impressions of the musicians<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For <\/span><b>Mine Ece Pahsa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the trip was met with great anticipation from the very beginning. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201eEver since I found out I\u2019d be part of Studio Musikfabrik, I couldn\u2019t stop picturing what those ten days ahead might hold.\u201c<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Looking back, she describes the trip as touching: \u201eEverything I tried to imagine turned out even more beautiful than I could have dreamed.\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Everything I had imagined was even more beautiful than I had ever dreamed.&#8221; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She considered it a great privilege to travel to Asia for the first time for this project. She was particularly moved by the exchange with local musicians: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;In Bangkok, I had the chance to meet and hear remarkable Thai musicians, to experience their world\u2014for that I am truly grateful. It&#8217;s as if a whole new space has opened up in my mind.\u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The collaboration with the ensemble was also impressive for her: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;From the first rehearsal, working with Peter and playing with my colleagues has brought something exceptional to my musicianship. I felt this deepen with each passing day of the tour. \u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And last but not least, it is the interpersonal relationships that remain in her memory: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The people at Studio Musikfabrik have become like family to me in such a short time, which makes this farewell all the more emotional. Knowing that I&#8217;ll see them again in L\u00fcbeck fills me with joy, even though I already miss them.\u201c <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Mine Ece it is clear: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;These ten days will remain in my memory as one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. My deepest thanks go to everyone who made this possible.\u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Jung&#8217;s Kim <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reminisces about the project with satisfaction as well. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201eJoining the Bangkok and Singapore project, I hoped to engage with musicians who are genuinely dedicated to their craft and to draw new inspiration from our collaboration. This expectation was fully realized, and the experience proved to be even more enriching than I had anticipated.\u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The work with Peter Veale was particularly formative: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ePeter\u2019s way of guiding the ensemble left a strong impression on me. He consistently encouraged us while offering practical and musically insightful advice. His guidance shaped our performances and helped each of us achieve the best possible results on stage.\u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A personal highlight for Jungin was the presentation of his own works: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ePresenting my own music in such unique venues was both exciting and deeply rewarding \u2013 an experience I will cherish for a long time.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exchange was also intense off stage: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201eSharing meals, exploring the cities, and engaging with musicians from diverse backgrounds offered fresh perspectives and strengthened the sense of community within the ensemble.\u201c<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h4><b>Sound connects cultures<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The concert tour to <\/span><b>Bangkok<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Singapore <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was a musical event \u2013 \u200b\u200bas well as a cultural bridge, a personal adventure and a striking example of the unifying power of contemporary music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">T<\/span><span>he performance of <\/span><i><span>An Index of Metals <\/span><\/i><span>set <\/span><span>a symbol of artistic courage,
