With a complete performance of SUNDAY from LIGHT at the Cologne Opera House both Ensemble Musikfabrik and Opera Cologne line up a matchless highlight in 2011. It took 26 years until Karlheinz Stockhausen had worked out his monumental cycle LIGHT which stages musically the single days of the week.<\/p>\n

Carlus Padrissa, co-founder of the Spanish theatre group \u201cLa Fura dels Baus\u201d has already fascinated the audience in 2008 with his spectacular new production of \u201cMICHAEL\u2019S JOURNEY ROUND THE WORLD\u201d (THURSDAY from LIGHT). Now he also undertakes the staging and the scenic conception of this exceptional project.<\/p>\n

Focus of the final opera is the mystical unification of Eva with the Earl of Angels Michael which is celebrated under praises of God, joy, beauty and harmony. This \u201cuniversal day\u201d in its five scenes LIGHTS-WATERS, ANGEL PROCESSIONS, LIGHT PICTURES, SCENTS-SIGNS, MARRIAGES \/ HIGH-TIMES leads the opera cycle to its crowning culmination.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n
