The further development of the trumpet, its technique, and repertoire has been Marco Blaauw\u2019s main objective for more than 30 years. He complements his commitment to ensemble music with solo projects in the field of composed and improvised music and intensive collaboration with well-known and young composers of contemporary music. Marco Blaauw has been a member of the Cologne-based Ensemble Musikfabrik since 1993, while engagements as a soloist have taken him around the world. In addition to his performance work, Blaauw is a curator, a dedicated educator as well as a composer, producer, researcher, and recording artist.
\nAs artistic director and performer of The Monochrome Project, Marco Blaauw leads the 8-player trumpet ensemble in developing works from ground-breaking composers at prominent festivals throughout Europe.
\nHis research project, Global Breath, has been taking his passion for the trumpet to new realms of knowledge and performance, reflecting the shared human connection in the sound of the trumpet.
\nHis work is documented on countless radio, CD and Video recordings.
\nBlaauw\u2019s work received awards such as the Polish Orpheus prize, the Karel de Grote Oeuvreprijs of the city of Nijmegen, the Karl Sczuka Prize of the SWR and the Palma Ars Acustica of the EBU. His work has been supported by grants from the Ernst von Siemens Foundation, Musikfonds, Ministry of Culture and Science NRW, Societ\u00e9 Gavigni\u00e9s, and the Art foundation of NRW.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
