One bag of sounds: An expedition to the sounds of our environment and to Karlheinz Stockhausen

Workshop for children between 8 and 12 years of  KölnerKinderUniversität in cooperation with Ensemble Musikfabrik and MusikTriennale Köln to the concert ‚Hymnen‘ on May 5, 2010 at the Kölner Philharmonie

Some impressions of this project can be seen here:
Exchange. Die Kunst, Musik zu vermitteln (Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg)

Part 1: listening - discovering - recording - experimenting - inventing
We listen to Stockhausen's electronic music and find out how he produced these sounds (visit of the WDR Studio for Electronic Music inclusive)

Part 2: career aspiration: composer
How does one become a composer? We undertake an expedition to the places where Stockhausen studied and lived.

Part 3: grand entrance!
We stage our composition twice in Cologne:
- on September 2, 2010, in the context of the nationwide project 'sounding D' of Netzwerk Neue Musik
- on September 4, 2010, during the degree ceremony of the KölnerKinderUni

Part 1: 9 afternoons and one concert between April 6 and May 5
Part 2: 3 dates in early summer
Part 3: 3 dates between August 31 and September 2
